A 39-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning near a nightclub in Midtown Manhattan, and the New York City Police Department confirmed that the perpetrator remains at large, повідомляє Baltimore Chronicle. The incident occurred less than a block east of the Intrepid Museum on West 46th Street and 12th Avenue around 4:13 a.m.
According to the NYPD, officers arriving at the scene found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and groin. Emergency medical personnel transported him to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Police have not made any arrests and are actively working to identify the shooter.
This shooting follows the unrelated Nov. 16 shooting of New York Jets defensive back Kris Boyd outside the Midtown Manhattan restaurant Sei Less at 156 W. 38th Street, approximately two miles from the location of Sunday’s fatal incident. Boyd, 29, was shot around 2 a.m. after leaving the restaurant with friends and becoming involved in an altercation with another group from the establishment.
Boyd remains hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his lung, law enforcement sources reported to ABC News. Jets coach Aaron Glenn stated that he had spoken with Boyd and expressed confidence in his recovery. Police have identified a potential suspect in the Boyd case and are seeking to question him, though no arrests have yet been made.
