Music producer Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, could be the organizer behind the murder of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur and Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight. This information was reported by USA Today based on investigation materials, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to USA Today.
A key witness in the case was former member of the Crips gang, Dwayne Davis. According to him, in September 1996, after a boxing match in Las Vegas, Tupac Shakur attacked Orlando Anderson, Davis’s nephew. Upon learning about the incident, Davis decided to support his relative and organize a retaliatory attack.
However, personal revenge was not the only motive. Investigators claim that P. Diddy also offered $1 million for the elimination of Shakur and Knight. Moreover, Davis stated that the producer openly boasted about his involvement and that he paid for the rental of a Cadillac from which the musician was later shot and his producer severely injured.
Tupac Shakur died on September 13, 1996, in Las Vegas from the gunshot wounds he sustained.
Notably, Sean Combs had no formal procedural status in the Shakur murder case for many years. The artist’s representatives consistently denied any allegations. In the fall of 2024, P. Diddy was arrested in the U.S. on unrelated charges, including sexual harassment, assault, and human trafficking. Around 120 lawsuits were filed in court. He did not plead guilty to any of the counts. Later, he was acquitted of the most serious charges.
As for Dwayne Davis, formal charges related to Tupac Shakur’s murder were filed against him in 2023. The final court verdict has not yet been issued.
