Dance Coach in Cherkasy Gambled Away Money for Children’s Trip to Georgia

A dance coach in Cherkasy is accused of collecting 1 million UAH from parents for a trip to Georgia and gambling it away. Fraud charges filed.

The dance troupe coach in Cherkasy region has been charged with large-scale fraud after collecting over 1 million UAH from parents for a trip to Georgia and gambling the funds in an online casino, reports Baltimore Chronicle, citing the Office of the Prosecutor General.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the coach collected money from the children’s parents under the pretext of their participation in a festival in Georgia. However, she spent the funds for her personal purposes, specifically losing them in an online casino. The total amount collected between April and July 2025 was over 1 million UAH, affecting 26 victims.

The Cherkasy District Prosecutor’s Office has charged the woman with large-scale fraud under Article 190, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the prosecutors’ request, the court has placed the suspect under house arrest, considering that she has a minor child under her care.
