The US government's International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) provided the Superhumans Center with insurance against war risks for $25 million.
This is stated in a press release from the Superhumans Foundation, which is available to Ukrinform.
“Superhumans Medical Center, which provides free prosthetics, rehabilitation, reconstructive surgery and psychological care to war traumatized people, received $25 million in political risk insurance from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). .,” the message says.
The foundation notes that the American government agency’s trust in Superhumans will increase the center’s ability to expand and provide assistance to as many Ukrainians as possible.
In addition, political risk insurance from a strong American partner is an important signal to the market that investors and donors have reason to trust Ukrainian public organizations and businesses.
DFC is one of the few organizations uniquely positioned to provide political risk insurance to Ukrainian businesses and charities during wartime. The corporation also provides debt financing, equity investments, and technical development assistance. DFC's total portfolio in Ukraine is more than $1 billion.
«This decision by DFC resists both international and Ukrainian investors and demonstrates that the implementation of projects in Ukraine is not only possible, but also supported», – First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko noted on the occasion of the signing of the agreement.
As reported, the Ministry of Economy and the charitable organization “Charity Foundation “Superpeople” (Superhumans) entered into a partnership and cooperation agreement, which should facilitate the reintegration of war veterans into civilian life and involve them in creating their own businesses.
According to the signed agreement, the Ministry of Economy will help attract donor funds to finance the Superhumans center, the creation training center for veterans, as well as new prosthetics and rehabilitation centers in different regions of Ukraine.
