Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, 1,525 medical facilities have been damaged and another 197 completely destroyed.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health, Ukrinform reports.
“For almost two years now, the Russian army has been shelling Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, including medical infrastructure, every day. We are talking about hospitals, outpatient clinics, clinics, maternity clinics, etc. In particular, during this time, as a result of enemy shelling, 1,525 medical facilities and another 197 — completely destroyed and cannot be restored,” the message says.
It is noted that the greatest losses were suffered by medical institutions in the Kharkiv region, Donetsk region, Mykolaiv region, Kiev region, Chernihiv region, Dnieper region, Kherson region, Zaporozhye. It is not yet possible to fully obtain information on the extent of destruction of medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territories.
In addition, Russia damaged 103 emergency medical vehicles, destroyed 258 and captured 125 emergency vehicles.
< At the same time, the Ministry of Health notes that, despite constant bombing and shelling, restoration work continues in Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Health, at the moment, 506 medical facilities have been fully restored, another 359 — partially rebuilt or in the process of renovation. In particular, it was possible to restore most of the medical institutions in the de-occupied territories, as well as those that received minor damage. Most of the restored medical institutions — in the Mykolayiv region, Dnepropetrovsk region, Kiev region, Kharkov region and Chernihiv region.
As reported, in the Kharkov region, two more outpatient clinics of the Primary Health Care Center of the Dergachiv City Council, which received significant damage as a result of massive shelling, were restored.
