Photo There are seven mobile pharmacies operating in Ukraine today; they travel to remote communities in the Kharkov, Nikolaev, Cherkassy and Chernihiv regions.
Health Minister Viktor Lyashko announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
As he recalled, last year the government approved regulatory changes that made it possible for mobile pharmacies function.
The purpose of this decision is – to improve people’s access to high-quality safe medicines in rural areas and front-line regions, to make it possible to buy medicines conveniently and close to home.
“In mobile pharmacies, patients can purchase both over-the-counter and prescription medications, as well as, most importantly, those subject to reimbursement under the Affordable Medicines program.” – that is, a person can receive them free of charge or with a partial surcharge,” – the minister emphasized.
Lyashko emphasized that all prescription drugs are dispensed exclusively according to a paper or electronic prescription.
You can get information about the arrival of a mobile pharmacy from your family doctor or from messages from local authorities. The route is built in accordance with the needs of community residents, which are determined by family doctors, and taking into account the security situation in the region.
As Ukrinform reported, the first mobile pharmacy began operating in January in the Kharkiv region.
