Some categories of Ukrainians, including pensioners, can receive “basic social assistance”, the amount of which varies depending on which group the person belongs to.
This is stated in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“The purpose of the new initiative is to provide additional financial support to those who need it most in the face of economic challenges,” the material says.
According to the draft resolution, additional payments will be available to the following categories of citizens:
- low-income families
- large families
- single mothers
- internally displaced persons (migrants)
- persons with disabilities
- families receiving temporary assistance to children whose parents do not pay child support or whose whereabouts are unknown
- citizens who do not have the right for retirement
The distribution of assistance will be based on the following principle:
- 100% of the base amount (4,500 UAH) will be provided to the first family member who is an authorized recipient
- 70% of the base amount will be paid to each subsequent family member
