As the publication notes, “the largest US banks have built a fortress of excess capital, which exceeds their current needs.” With this in mind, Morgan Stanley analysts raised their ratings on these banks to “attractive” as they “have the highest levels of overcapitalization ever.”
Experts also upgraded Bank of New York Mellon Corp. to “balanced”, but lowered the rating of Northern Trust Corp.
