In May, Ukrainian banks issued 976 mortgage loans for a total of UAH 1.737 billion. This is evidenced by the data of the monthly survey of banks on mortgage lending, the press service of the NBU reports.

The volume of mortgage loans provided to the population in May 2024 remained practically at the level of the previous month.
The issuance of new mortgages in May was reported 12 banks that provided loans for the purchase of housing. The majority of transactions were still concluded on the secondary real estate market.
The mortgage segment is still driven by preferential lending under the Yeselya program (almost all loans in April were provided under this program).
The average weighted effective rate on mortgage loans in May decreased to 7.6% per annum from 7.7% in April.
Where most loans were issued
In regional terms, the largest number of mortgage loans in May were issued in:
- Kyiv and Kyiv region (464 agreements for a total of UAH 911.6 million, which is 52.2% of the total volume), Lviv region (53 agreements for UAH 110.6 million), Odessa region (52 agreements for UAH 79 million). UAH), Vinnytsia region (42 agreements for the amount of UAH 72.4 million).
Survey
In the survey in June 2024, 39 banks provided responses with a share of 98.9% of the total gross mortgage portfolio at the end of 2021.
