Spotify artists earn about $0.003 per song stream, while the company's CEO Daniel Ek earned $345 million last year. As Consequence writes, no artist on the platform has earned so much in their career, mezha.media reports.

In order to make $345 million from song streams, artists need 115 billion plays on tracks. The closest to that figure is Drake, who has accumulated 100 billion streams between all his albums and singles over 15 years, and that’s still not enough.
$0.003 is the approximate price per stream. It’s already well known that Spotify has secret deals with some artists who are paid more than others. This may mean that Drake, for example, has made more from Spotify over the course of his career than the company’s CEO does in a year, but we’re talking about one of the most successful artists in the world.
For less popular artists who don’t have billions of dollars in revenue on their songs and haven’t received special offers from the streaming platform, things could be worse. From this information alone, one can guess that the artists, who should be the main value of the music service, are valued less than its CEO.
