The Visa payment system, which left the Russian market in March 2022, has not yet made any decisions on resuming operations in Russia. This was reported in an interview with EP by Visa's regional manager in Ukraine, Tatyana Chernaya.

“Visa's position since 2022 is fundamental and unchanged: we condemned aggression and completely withdrew from Russian business. This decision is immutable and remains so. Visa complies with absolutely all sanctions imposed in our area of activity, including those imposed directly against Russia,” she said.
When asked by a journalist under what conditions the company is ready to resume its work on the Russian market, she quoted the words of the company's CEO Ryan McInerney: “it's too early to say.”
“Our plans are what they are. The fundamental position – not to work with an aggressor country – remains unchanged,” Chernaya said.
She added that she believes in Visa's common sense and that all decisions regarding the resumption of operations in Russia will be made within the legal framework.
Despite the official exit from the Russian market, the banks of the aggressor country continued to serve customers with Visa and Mastercard cards. Chernaya explained that this was about old cards issued earlier. However, these Russian Visa cards are not accepted in any other country except Russia itself. Also, in Russia, you cannot pay with Visa and Mastercard cards issued in other countries of the world.
