The two companies are finalizing terms of an agreement to use ChatGPT features in iOS 18, the iPhone's follow-on operating system.
The agreement with OpenAI will allow Apple to offer the popular chatbot as part of its new artificial intelligence features that the company plans to announce next month.
Apple has also negotiated with Google to license the Gemini chatbot. These negotiations did not lead to an agreement, but are ongoing.
