The girlfriend of former welterweight boxing champion Chris van Gerden was arrested in Russia due to the transfer of funds to favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the state.

It is reported that the criminal case against Ksenia Karelina is related to the fact that on February 24, 2022, she transferred $51.8 to one of the funds to help Ukraine and its army. It is also reported that in the United States the girl has repeatedly participated in rallies in support of the Ukrainian state.
«Please pray. Russia detained my girlfriend. We fight for you and love you, Ksenia», — Gerden wrote on the social network X.
It is noteworthy that Ksenia Karelina has citizenship of the Russian Federation and the United States and lives in Los Angeles. She came to Russia to visit relatives, where she was arrested.
