The former head of Yoozoo Games, Xu Yao, was sentenced to death for the premeditated murder of a colleague. The company, of which he was the founder, is known to the world for its connection with the popular series “Game of Thrones”. The reason for this decision was the poisoning of company founder Lin Qi in December 2020. The investigation suggests that Xu Yao committed the murder because of a conflict in business.
Lin felt unwell after drinking poisoned pu-erh tea. The victim was hospitalized and died 10 days later. Xu was detained by police a few days later.
During the investigation, poisons such as fugu fish poison, mercury and at least three other deadly substances were discovered.
In addition, Xu is a suspect in the poisoning of several more people who were still lucky to survive. According to the court, this was done during a conflict with two of them.
