According to Energy Minister German Galushchenko, as a result of the latest enemy shelling, Ukraine was deprived of 7 GW of electricity generation capacity.
This information was reported by the telegram channel “Operational Armed Forces of Ukraine”, reports “URA-Inform”.
«Rough calculations show that we have lost up to 7 GW in our system. This is a significant amount of generation. In addition, damage was caused to a number of high-voltage transformers at substations responsible for the transmission of electricity», — Galushchenko noted.
However, Ukraine plans to partially compensate for these losses by focusing on the use of renewable energy sources, primarily solar energy.
«Winter is approaching, which will be a real test for us. Therefore, we are already actively discussing various ways to increase generation in order to quickly cope with this situation», — he added.
