From August 20, mandatory evacuation of children together with their parents or other legal representatives will begin in Pokrovsk. This decision was made due to the fact that Russian forces continue to advance towards the city.
This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadim Filashkin on the air of the national telethon, quoted by “URA-Inform”.
Filashkin noted that if the enemy continues its offensive at this rate, the authorities will be forced to tighten the curfew in the city. Similar measures have already been taken in Mirnohrad, Selidovo and Novogrodovka, where restrictions have been tightened to ensure the safety of local residents.
The situation on the front in the Pokrovsk direction remains extremely tense. Russian troops are actively attacking this area. According to the General Staff of Ukraine, over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian troops have repelled 45 enemy assaults in this area. Despite rumors of a possible withdrawal of troops due to events in the Kursk region, Ukrainian troops have not recorded any signs of a weakening of enemy activity in this direction.
The head of the Pokrovsk city military administration, Sergei Dobryak, emphasized that city residents have only a week or two left for safe evacuation. He strongly recommends that anyone who has not yet left leave Pokrovsk as soon as possible and move to safer regions.
It is also worth mentioning another problem, namely the return of power outages in Ukraine. We have already reported at what time and for whom to expect power outages on August 19.
