Reserve Major Oleksiy Getman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, suggested that Ukrainian troops should consider advancing through Russian territory along Ukraine's borders to create a so-called sanitary or “gray” zone. He said such a strategy could provide significant tactical advantages. /p>
URA-Inform reports this, citing Radio NV.
Getman explained that the Ukrainian military-political leadership has repeatedly spoken about the need to transfer military operations to Russian territory. He noted that one of the goals of the Kursk operation was an attempt to get closer to Russian cities, as was done earlier in the Kharkov region. In his opinion, the operation in the Kursk region thwarted the plans of the Russians, who were probably going to advance further into Ukraine.
According to him, waging war in modern conditions includes many aspects: military actions, political pressure, media campaigns and economic sanctions. Hetman emphasized that the Ukrainian operation is multifaceted and has already begun to show results.
In his analysis, Hetman suggested that the creation of a “demilitarized zone” along the Russian border could help in the strategic encirclement of Russian troops, which in turn would weaken their positions and capabilities for offensive actions. He added that the advance into Russian territory could include attacks on enemy rear areas, potentially increasing pressure on Russian forces.
It is also worth recalling that Biden predicted the end of the war in Ukraine.
