Prince William, the eldest son of Princess Diana and King Charles, is first in line to the British throne.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Tsn.
Royal expert Jenny Bond recalls Princess Diana's words about William's future during several meetings with her at Kensington Palace.
“Diana showered William with hugs and kisses, as did Harry, but William bore the brunt of some of Diana's emotional needs. When her marriage was failing, she would turn to William for support, and he was known to pass tissues and a note under the bathroom door to try to comfort her when she cried,” Ms Bond recalled.
William was probably more aware of the family's problems than a teenager should be, according to Jennie Bond. The royal marriage was constantly discussed in the media, and was in the spotlight.
“I remember talking to the princess on a trip to Japan. Jonathan Dimbleby's biography of Charles had just been published. She told me that the headlines it generated were incredibly offensive to William and Harry and she didn't want them to see it,” Jenny said.
Princess Diana also shared with Jenny her thoughts on the future that awaited William and why she felt the country was 'lucky' to have him.
“She also told me that William felt burdened by his destiny. Unlike other young men, he would never have the freedom to choose his job or the direction of his life. He was born to be king and that of course made him different from all the other boys and girls, even his brother. But Diana had great faith in William and told me that she thought the country would understand that we were “very lucky to have a man like William,” and I think that still rings true today,” concluded Jenny Bond.
