Relationships Serbia and Russia are once again in the center of international attention. For the first time in two and a half years, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Ukrainian Telegram news service .
This dialogue is of particular importance against the backdrop of changes in the geopolitical situation and sanctions pressure on Russia. The first topic raised by Vucic concerned energy cooperation. The Serbian leader expressed gratitude for the stable supplies of Russian gas, which remain critically important for the Serbian economy.
In the context of instability in the energy market and pressure on infrastructure projects in Europe, Serbia is interested in maintaining partnership relations with Russia.
The Kremlin confirmed that Vucic had received an official offer to take part in the Victory Parade on May 9, 2025 in Moscow.
Vladimir Putin informed Vucic about the current state of affairs on the fronts in Ukraine and noted the importance of strengthening the political and economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia.
Against this background, the Pentagon has already managed to present its reaction to the sending of DPRK soldiers to the Ukrainian state.
