The forecast of geomagnetic activity for November 28–30, 2024, was published by the Space Weather Prediction Center of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Geomagnetic storms are assessed by the K-index, which reflects their strength and impact. The index ranges from 2 (minor impact) to 9 (extremely severe storm).
- Thursday, November 28: K-index 4 storm expected (yellow level), which corresponds to a weak magnetic storm. The intensity will increase by the evening.
- Friday, November 29: a moderate storm with a K-index of 5 (red level) is predicted.
- Saturday, November 30: the magnetic storm will intensify to a K-index of 6 ( red level), which can significantly affect the well-being of weather-sensitive people.
