Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, using long-range weapons provided by their allies, managed to shoot down 12 planes and 26 helicopters of the Russian military. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed this information on January 11.
«We destroyed as many as 12 at a time. We simply had something to answer», — Zelensky noted.
The head of state emphasized that these weapons were provided for defense purposes, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully dealt with the enemy, who dominated the airspace. Zelensky also highlighted the lack of suitable weapons for defense, noting:
«If we had enough air defense systems and the Russians didn't control the air, we would destroy their aircraft. We tested it and it works. Without the support of air forces, the invaders cannot successfully carry out an offensive»
