A representative of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat commented on the information that that Denmark is allegedly postponing the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine for several months. He noted that Denmark has not officially announced a delay in deliveries of F-16 fighters, ArmyInform reports.
“Let's go back to the source, on the website of the Danish Ministry of Defense there is no official information about the postponement of the delivery date of the F-16 to Ukraine, so let's believe only reliable sources. Yes, this is a rather sensitive topic for us, because we go through the preparation process in a very fast time. Many other states are queuing not only for aircraft, but also for instructors who will retrain pilots, said Yuriy Ignat.
The officer emphasized that Ukraine was given the “green light”, because our pilots are trained in different sites of partner countries.
- Yesterday, Norwegian F-16 fighters, intended for training Ukrainian pilots, landed in Denmark.
- Meanwhile, Belgium will send two F-16s and fifty instructors to train Ukrainians.
- The Pentagon expects Ukrainian pilots to complete training on F-16 fighter jets this year.
