“While in TOT, they were in dangerous conditions: they threatened to take the children away from their mother, and they forced the minors to study according to Russian educational standards. So they lived for almost a year under temporary occupation in Donetsk region,” says Lubinets.
The relatives contacted the Ombudsman’s Office. Despite all the difficulties and threats, thanks to the work with Caritas Ukraine and Rokada, it was possible to organize a safe route for the family and provide humanitarian needs for them in the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine.
The minors were returned as part of the implementation of the approved action plan of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA.
