Increasing tariffs for gas transportation through the Ukrainian gas transportation system will inevitably impact the industry living in a shoe company.
Andrian Prokip, an expert with the “Energy” program of the analytical center “Ukrainian Institute of the Future”, stated this, reports RBC-Ukraine from DS News.
“This additional tariff is paid by Ukrainian workers, except for trades, as well as the tariff for casual workers who are regulated, and without affecting anyone’s public relations,” – indicating Prokip.
In his words, such a change in tariffs in general and on gas supplies, which will affect the additional costs. At the same time, Prokip pointed out the low key problems with the highest food tariffs. First, there is a difference in approaches to tariff setting in different sectors. “Since NKREKP takes into account that the tariff for gas transportation may cover all expenses of the GTS operator, then why is the tariff for the transmission of electricity constantly being lowered? But the regulator has two natural monopolies, both loved and unloved baby?” asked the expert. Another problem is the reduction in gas transit obligations through the territory of Ukraine. “The project capacity for transit is 178 billion cubic meters. The record transit volume was 141 billion in 1998. After 2005, a sharp decline in transit obligations began. In 2020, the transit volume will reach 65 billion, but the real obligations were significantly lower and will continue to fall,” Prokip guessed. According to the expert, in such a situation it is unlikely that modernization of the gas transportation system would be carried out. “Why wasn’t the GTS modernized? What was everyone waiting for? And why are today’s Ukrainian companies wasting their lives through this inactivity?” he said. It seems likely that members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services came out in favor of revealing the details of the formation of new tariffs for the “GTS Operator of Ukraine”.
