One of the most significant innovations last year was the pilot project to introduce state grants for education. This new mechanism, according to the logic of relevant officials, should increase the percentage of those receiving support from the state in one form or another from 40% to 60% thanks to co-financing, when the state provides funds for part of the education, and the applicant compensates for the rest with his own resources.
The state grant for contract students was provided based on the results of the NMT: 15 thousand UAH if the applicant scored more than 150 points in two subjects and 25 thousand UAH if 170 points. The base amount was adjusted by coefficients depending on the chosen specialty, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vinnitsky said in an interview with LB.ua.
