Arctic cold snap is coming to Ukraine: when to expect a drop in temperatures

Ukraine will encounter Arctic air over the weekend, and from Monday it will spread to the entire country. According to forecaster Natalka Didenko, the temperature in the western and northern regions will drop to +3…+9 degrees, while on Saturday the rest of the territory will still be warm – from +12 to +20. On Sunday, slight warmth will remain only in the south and southeast, and on March 17, the cold snap will cover all regions, writes IZ. Precipitation is expected in the central regions, while the south and east will remain rainless.

Kyiv residents will also experience a sharp drop in temperature starting on Saturday, when the air will cool to +5…+7 degrees. On Sunday, the thermometer in the capital will drop even lower – to +2…+5 degrees. Forecasters predict dry weather on Sunday, but light rain is possible today. In the capital, it is recommended to dress warmly due to a significant drop in temperature, which will be felt especially in the morning and evening hours.

According to the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, an increased level of danger due to bad weather has been declared in the western regions. Heavy rains are forecast in Volyn, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi regions, and wet snow is possible in some places. Drivers should be careful on the roads, as the worsening weather conditions may lead to reduced visibility and ice.

We remind you that we previously wrote about when to expect rain in Ukraine and whether snow is possible in March.
