In the US, there is renewed talk of Trump's impeachment

According to The Hill, a new impeachment process against President Donald Trump may begin in the United States. This was stated by Democratic Congressman Al Green, speaking at a rally in Washington on April 5. The politician confirmed that he intends to file articles of impeachment within 30 days, IZ writes with reference to RBC-Ukraine. He expressed confidence that Trump does not deserve the position of head of state.

We need a Senate that finds him guilty this time, and I want you to know — with all my heart — I understand that he is a Goliath. He is a Goliath. He controls the generals in the military. He controls the Department of Justice. He controls the Republican Party. But, my friends, for every Goliath, there is a David ,” Green said at a “Hands Off!” rally in the District of Columbia.

The congressman also directly addressed Trump, emphasizing the determination of his intentions: “ And I want you to know, Mr. President: this David will file articles of impeachment against you within the next 30 days. Within 30 days, I will file articles of impeachment. I am coming after you. Mr. President, this David is coming after you .”

Green emphasized that Trump cannot be trusted to lead the country: ” You cannot be trusted with liberty and justice for all. You cannot be trusted with a government of the people, elected by the people and for the people. I follow you. I am your David. God bless you .”

The White House has already responded to Green's initiative. Deputy press secretary Liz Gaston told The Hill that President Trump ” will always protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid for those who qualify .” At the same time, she criticized the Democrats' position, accusing them of intending to extend these programs to illegal immigrants, which, she said, threatens the financial stability of the system.

Al Green has spoken out about impeachment before. On February 5, he announced the motion after Trump proposed taking control of the Gaza Strip. The congressman considers this unacceptable: “Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America.” In his new speech, he again stated that the Gaza Strip should remain a home for the Palestinians, not become a resort area.

After Trump's address to Congress on March 4, Green was escorted out of the chamber amid loud outcry over the president's remarks. In his speech, Trump touched on the Panama Canal, Greenland, and Russia's war on Ukraine. These and other statements by the president sparked mass protests in the United States and Europe on April 5.

We remind you that it was previously reported that the EU is concerned about Hungary's possible position regarding the extension of sanctions against Russia.
