In the Odessa region, border guards saved a man's leg.

A woman contacted the State Border Service hotline at night and reported that her ex-husband tried to illegally enter Moldova, but was injured and needed help.

Border guards found out that a 59-year-old Lvov resident called his ex-wife and said that while trying to cross the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, he broke his leg, could not move and was in the open air for about four hours, smoking and very cold.

Having received the coordinates, the border guards began searching, using a service dog, and also raised a quadcopter with a camera. The victim was soon found near the village of Novokrasnoye, Razdelnyansky district, he was given medical assistance, taken to the unit and an ambulance was called.

The husband said that he received navigation instructions and advice on how to illegally enter Moldova through a telegram channel . For such “online consultations” he paid 4,000 US dollars.

The man was subject to administrative liability under Art. 202 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, imposed a fine of 1,700 UAH, and also drew up an administrative protocol under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.” The case has been sent to court.

Previously, in the Odessa region, a service dog “sniffed out” two illegal immigrants. Five more were found by drone.
