In Dnepr, a 22-year-old local resident helped the enemy prepare a missile strike on a thermal power plant and a military hospital < Security Service cyber specialists thwarted a new attempt by the Russian Federation to launch a missile strike on the military and critical infrastructure of the Dnieper, reports the SBU. </p>
<p>Thanks multi-stage special operation, an FSB agent who was conducting additional reconnaissance near the hospital of the Defense Forces was detained right in the “hot” in the regional center.</p>
<p>The attacker wanted to establish the approximate number of Ukrainian defenders who were undergoing hospital treatment there. He also monitored the medical transport arriving to the territory of the medical facility.</p>
<p>The defendant tried to transfer the information received, along with the coordinates of the object, to the FSB through an anonymous chat in the messenger. In the future, the occupiers planned to use intelligence information to prepare a missile attack on a military hospital in the Dnieper.</p>
<p>Another potential target of the enemy was the local thermal power plant, which provides electricity to a significant part of the metropolis. On instructions from the FSB, their agent filmed the perimeter of the thermal power plant and the surrounding area using his own phone.</p>
<p>The Russians needed such information to find out the technical condition of the facility for “taking into account” in the preparation of a new series of air attacks on the city. According to the prosecutor's office, the suspect managed to transfer information about 4 objects to the enemy.</p>
<p>The SBU officers “step by step” documented not only the intelligence activity of the FSB agent, but also established the identity of his Russian curator.</p>
<p>At the same time, comprehensive measures were taken on the territory of the Dnieper to provide personnel for the Defense Forces and additional protection of critical infrastructure.</p>
<p>According to the investigation, the agent turned out to be a 22-year-old local resident, who was remotely recruited by a career employee of the Russian special service in February of this year . For cooperation with the occupiers, the traitor received a monetary reward using his own bank details.</p>
<p>Now Security Service investigators have informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.</p>
<p>The attacker is in custody. He faces life imprisonment.</p>
