Speaker of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrey Yusov announced details of the exchange of prisoners of war with the Russian Federation, which was supposed to take place yesterday, January 24, the day the Il-76 military transport aircraft crashed in the Belgorod region.

On air national telethon, the press secretary of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense said that the exchange of prisoners with the Russian Federation, which was planned for Wednesday, January 24, failed. According to Yusov, on the Ukrainian side everything was prepared for this process, NBN reports.
The intelligence representative said that civilian transport with captured occupiers was on site in the Sumy region. A regime of silence was ensured along the route, the relevant services were warned, the Defense Forces and border guards worked properly. However, the exchange never took place.
Note that after reports appeared about the crash of an Il-76 near Belgorod, Russian media stated that there were Ukrainian prisoners of war on the plane. Budanov does not rule out that there could have been citizens of our country on board, whom the occupiers used as human shields to transport missiles for the S-300 air defense system.
Also, the speaker of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU told who the FSB of the Russian Federation “deployed” with boarding the Il-76, ordering the use of another mode of transport.
