As NBN reports with reference to the official Telegram channel of the people's deputy from the European Solidarity party Oleksiy Goncharenko, the corresponding draft law received votes 265 elected representatives of the people.
This document shall enter into force 30 days after the date of publication. However, there is one nuance: in accordance with the new law, the communities of the UOC-MP are given 9 months to sever ties with the ROC.
Key provisions of the bill:
- introduction of restrictions on religious organizations associated with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC);
- definition of what exactly is meant by the above-described “communication”;
- allocation of a period during which Ukrainian organizations must get rid of the specified ties;
- introduction of state supervision monitoring compliance with such requirements;
- granting government agencies the authority to interact with religious organizations, who were unable/unwilling to independently fulfill a number of the law's requirements.
Earlier, we wrote that consideration of the bill on the mobilization of Ukrainians up to 25 years of age was postponed indefinitely.
