The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry explained Warsaw's decision to close the Russian consulate in Poznan in an interview with TVP World. This step by the authorities was predetermined by the “sabotage actions” of Russians on the territory of the state and other European countries.
According to the diplomat, in response to this, the Russian leadership closed the Polish consulate in St. Petersburg, writes the NBN publication.
The minister threatened that if acts of sabotage and terrorism continue, Warsaw will close all remaining consulates of the Russian Federation on the territory of Poland.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Moscow had no right to take a retaliatory step, since the closure of the consulate of the aggressor country in Poznan is connected with the arson campaign in Poland and allied states. Sikorski added that, fortunately, the Russian sabotage did not result in casualties, but “everyone knows what the Russian Federation is like.”
The official reported that the Polish leadership took the closure of the consulate in St. Petersburg “with dignified indifference,” since such a step by the Russian authorities was predictable.
Recall that the head of the German Defense Ministry, Boris Pistorius, said that the Russians are increasing their presence in the Baltic Sea.
