As reported by NBN with reference to the Telegram profile of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), after the adoption of the relevant legislative provisions last year, about 7,000 military personnel who had committed unauthorized abandonment of their unit (UAU/UAU) for the first time returned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the SBI data, out of the above number, 4,396 people have already been officially admitted to military service, and the rest are being reinstated while criminal proceedings are being closed.
In addition, the command of the military unit, within 72 hours from the date of arrival of such a “deserter” at the location, is obliged to extend the contract/service, resuming the accrual of cash, food, clothing and other types of allowances, with the simultaneous provision of previous benefits and social guarantees.
Also, officers must promptly inform the pre-trial investigation bodies and the military law enforcement service about the arrival of a defense attorney and the continuation of service by the violator, which will allow the initiation of the procedure for closing the case against the soldier.
Earlier, we wrote that the Ministry of Defense reported what percentage of volunteers pass the selection for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
