As reported by NBN with reference to the YouTube channel CTVNews, the day before, on January 31, the new head of the White House, Donald Trump, made a statement: Washington intends to introduce duties on goods that come to the United States from the member countries of the European Union.

Based on Trump's words, Brussels allegedly treated the United States terribly. In particular, the European Union refused to purchase American cars and agricultural products.

The new head of the White House emphasized that the EU states, “essentially,” buy almost nothing from the US, and therefore a “huge deficit” with Europe has formed. Thus, Washington is forced to do “something very significant in relation to the EU.”

According to Trump, such countermeasures should help correct the above-described deficit in the United States by settling the imbalance, which, in fact, means the beginning of a trade war with Europe.

Earlier, our information portal wrote that Trump's inflated demands on the EU are sabotaging the stated goal of ending the war in Ukraine.
