As NBN reports with reference to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the results of the said meeting will allow Putin’s troops to strengthen their presence on the eastern borders of NATO member states, while simultaneously accelerating the actual annexation of Belarus.
In particular, the above-described document allows the Russian Federation to deploy military bases and develop infrastructure facilities on the territory of Belarus. Also, Putin openly stated that the agreement on security guarantees will allow defining the joint obligations of the terrorist state and the satellite country of Belarus, in particular, we are talking about strengthening the defense potential, allowing the use of “the entire available arsenal of forces and means.
The Kremlin tyrant emphasized that the Russian Federation has already formed a joint regional group of troops on Belarusian territory, supported by advanced Russian defensive systems and tactical nuclear weapons, which, supposedly, will make it possible to “reliably” cover the western borders.
ISW emphasized that they warned about a similar scenario in 2021 and can summarize:
…The Kremlin is using the structure of the union state to advance its strategic efforts to, “de facto,” annex this country [Belarus].
Earlier, we wrote that Zelensky hopes that the US will increase pressure on Russia and force it to stop the war.
