The Minister reminded on the air of the national telethon that at the Zaporozhye NPP there are no Ukrainian licensed specialists for the safe startup of reactors. Due to the absence of these professionals, a serious security threat has arisen at the plant, which is fraught with a nuclear incident, NBN reports.

Galushchenko explained that even if the occupiers bring specialists from the aggressor country to the Zaporizhia NPP, these will be unlicensed personnel . The launch of reactors with their participation is impossible either in the context of the legislation of Ukraine or the Russian Federation and international law. He emphasized that only Ukrainian specialists have licenses to operate the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

According to the head of the Ministry of Energy, the nuclear power plant also has a series of significant technical problems, two of which are the expiration of nuclear fuel and insufficient water to cool the reactors.

The official clarified that problems with water at the Zaporizhia NPP began after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam by the “liberators”. There is enough water to keep 6 units from functioning, but other volumes are needed to start the station.

We would like to remind you that last month the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about a possible provocation of the Russian Federation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
