German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the decision to transfer the third Patriot complex to Kyiv to strengthen Ukrainian air defense was not easy. The head of government expects that the allies will follow Berlin's example.

The head of the German government at the summit on security and competitiveness in Sweden recalled that Germany has pledged to support Ukraine as long as necessary, NBN reports with reference to Tagesschau.
According to the politician, the decision to transfer the third Patriot air defense system was “difficult” for Berlin, since Germany does not have many such complexes. However, it was important for the German leadership to make its contribution to strengthening Ukrainian air defense.
The Chancellor hopes that the European allies will follow the example of Germany, since Ukraine needs air defense systems, especially Patriot and IRIS-T, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces need more the number of tanks, artillery and ammunition.
Recall that the head of the Danish government, Matte Frederiksen, called on European leaders to follow the example of Berlin and transfer Patriot systems to Kyiv. According to the prime minister, Ukraine needs 5-6 more such air defense systems.
