Deja vu in the capital: the enemy repeated a massive attack after December 29

The New Year 2024 began with large-scale shelling of our country. Kyiv especially suffered: residents felt real deja vu, because the Russians staged another one on December 29th. Then there was an unprecedented attack on the city with terrifying consequences, writes WomanEL.

As Air Force Commander Nikolai Oleshchuk noted, on the night of January 2, 2024, the enemy repeated a massive attack using various types of air attack weapons, as was the case several days ago — December 29, 2023.

Critical infrastructure, industrial, civilian and military facilities were attacked. The main direction of the attack is the capital of Ukraine,

Oleshchuk said.

Today, nine districts of Kyiv have suffered destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure. High-rise buildings, private houses, warehouses, cars, fires in open areas and many casualties were damaged – this is how January began for Kiev residents.

Due to the attack, the lights were temporarily turned off in some houses in Shevchenkivskyi, Svyatoshinsky, Goloseevsky and Obolonsky districts. In the Solomensky district, a fire was recorded in multi-storey residential buildings. The fire trapped people on the floors. The State Emergency Service carried out the unblocking and evacuation of people.

The number of victims in the house in the Solomensky district increased to 49. And there are already two dead. 43 people were hospitalized. All emergency services are working on the spot,

said the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko.

There are three fires in warehouses in the Podolsk region. Two car dealerships were also on fire there – 29 cars burned to the ground, another 5 were damaged. In addition, the gas pipeline valve and water pipe were damaged. Relevant services are working on the spot.

In the Svyatoshinsky district, debris collapsed on a social infrastructure building. 120 people were evacuated from there. The fire was extinguished. In the Obolonsky district, a warehouse with an area of ​​2000 m² was on fire.

Minor fires occurred in two unfinished buildings in Pechersk – the fires were extinguished. In the Desnyansky, Goloseevsky and Shevchenko districts, debris burned in open areas.
