Trump will meet Zelensky one-on-one before EU and NATO leaders join later, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing Bild.

U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a one-on-one meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, declining the participation of European leaders in the initial talks. Only after the bilateral discussion will representatives of the EU and NATO join the negotiations, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Bild.

According to the publication, after the private conversation between Trump and Zelensky, a working dinner is scheduled, during which discussions will expand to include other key leaders. Among those expected are French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The decision to begin with a one-on-one meeting highlights Washington’s emphasis on direct relations with Kyiv. The later inclusion of European leaders and NATO indicates that the West is aligning around common security goals. Trump’s move reflects his desire to shape personal diplomacy while still engaging partners. The expanded talks will likely focus on international security, Ukraine’s support needs, and coordination of allied strategies. This encounter may serve as a pivotal moment in shaping Western policy toward Ukraine
