Italian actress Monica Bellucci and American director Tim Burton have officially announced the end of their relationship after two years together. The statement about their breakup was released through AFP, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Yahoo.
In their joint message, the former couple emphasized that they parted ways with deep respect and care for each other. They did not disclose further details, noting only that the decision was made peacefully.
Bellucci and Burton first met over 17 years ago during the Cannes Film Festival. Although they did not stay in close contact, Burton admitted he remained strongly impressed by the actress. Their romance began only years later: on Valentine’s Day in 2023, they were photographed strolling in Paris. They did not comment publicly at the time, but in June of that year, Bellucci confirmed their relationship and mentioned that their union inspired both creatively.
During their time together, the actress and director collaborated on the film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, with Burton directing and Bellucci portraying the witch Dolores. One of their last public appearances as a couple was in July this year at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, where they posed affectionately for photographers.
