The British veteran believes that the "Gypsy Stab" must prepare for the fight under the guidance of his father.
British heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora spoke about the upcoming fightbetween WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF world champion Oleksandr Usik and WBC title holder Tyson Fury.
The 40-year-old Briton is confident that his compatriot can easily defeat the Ukrainian if he prepares for the fight under the leadership of his father – John Fury.
“Tyson looks good. I saw his father holding his paws. People underestimate the bond between father and son when they work together. It's incredible.
If his father is in the corner, Tyson will easily beat Usyk. That's all. It's going to be a great fight and his dad knows what to do. He has watched fights all his life and fought himself.
That's why his father should become the head coach. I liked that he trains with his father,” Boxing News 24/7 quotes Chisora as saying.
We would like to add that Chisora has faced both Usyk and Fury during his career. In October 2020, Derek lostAlexandru by unanimous decision in the fight for the status of mandatory challenger for the WBO world title. He also suffered three defeats in the ring from Fury (2011, 2014, 2022).
The Usyk-Fury fight will take place on May 18 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The fight was scheduled for February 17, but due to an injury the Briton received during one of the sparrings, it had to be postponed.
