Ukraine has secured a medal in the team sabre fencing tournament.
The Ukrainian women's sabre fencing team has made it to the final of the team championship at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In the semi-finals, the Ukrainian team, represented by Olga Harlan, Elena Kravatskaya, Alina Komashchuk and Yulia Bakastova, defeated Japan with a score of 45:32.
Kharlan, Kravatskaya and Komashchuk started the semi-final fight for the “blue-yellows”, but after Elena lost her fight with a score of 2:9, a substitution was made and Bakastova came out in her place for the seventh fight.
In the final, the “blue-yellows” will fight for “gold” with the winner of another semi-final, in which France and South Korea meet.
In the final, Ukraine's opponent will be South Korea, which defeated France in the other semi-final (45:36). The fight for the “gold” will take place today at 21:00 Kyiv time.
Note that the Ukrainian sabre fencers made it to the quarterfinals thanks to their victory over Italy (45:37).

Thus, Ukraine has secured its fourth medal at these Olympic Games.
Earlier, Kharlan won “bronze” in the individual sabre fencer competition, and Serhiy Kulish won “silver” in shooting. The third award, at least a bronze one, was guaranteed for Ukraine by Oleksandr Khizhnyak, who reached the semi-finals of the boxing tournament.
Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
