Yuriy Maksimov has once again taken charge of the Poltava club.
Poltava's Vorskla has announced the appointment of Yuriy Maksimov as the team's new head coach.
According to the official website of the “green-whites”, the contract with the renowned Ukrainian specialist runs until June 30, 2026.
To the coaching staff 55-year-old Maksimov was also joined by Sergey Revut (who previously worked in Poltava) and Mykola Ishchenko.
Sergey Dolgansky, who until recently headed Vorskla, will remain with the team and will be responsible for training goalkeepers.
Previously, Maksimov worked with Vorskla from 2019 to 2022. Under his leadership, Poltava twice took fifth place in the UPL and advanced to the Conference League, and also played in the final of the 2019/20 Ukrainian Cup.
Maximov's last place of work was Dnipro-1, which before the start of the current season was excluded from the UPL due to financial problems and deprived of the right to play in European competitions.
Currently, Vorskla occupies 12th place in the Ukrainian championship standings, having scored 9 points after 10 matches.
In the first match after Maksimov's return to the coaching bridge, the Poltava team will meet Rivne Veres away on October 27 as part of the 11th round of the UPL.
