During the Awe Dropping Event, Apple unveiled its latest lineup of devices, including new iPhones, Apple Watch models, and AirPods, featuring the thinnest iPhone ever made. Immediately after the event, several older models disappeared from the company’s official website, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to rapowo.pl.
Following the presentation, Apple officially discontinued a number of previous-generation devices. The list includes iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch SE 2, as well as the AirPods Pro 2.
Every year, the company removes outdated products from its catalog after introducing upgraded versions. This strategy helps simplify the product range and encourages customers to switch to the latest models. Unlike iPhones and Apple Watch, which follow a clear numbering system, AirPods and AirPods Pro are labeled only by series, often causing confusion among buyers.
Although Apple has discontinued these models, they may still be available for purchase through online retailers, authorized resellers, or as refurbished devices. Over time, Apple reclassifies discontinued products as “vintage” five years after production ends, and after seven years, they are labeled as “obsolete.”
Currently, Apple’s smartphone lineup includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 16e, and last year’s base iPhone 16. In the smartwatch segment, the company offers the Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and the Apple Watch Hermes based on Series 11. For audio products, the lineup consists of AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max.
