Version 1.0 will be 10X better, but even at 0.1 it’s better than Wikipedia imo.
The Grokipedia project was developed by Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, and is built entirely on AI technology. According to The Washington Post, the website Grokipedia.com went live on Monday, October 27, though several users reported early technical issues shortly after its release.
As noted by The Business Insider, journalists accessed the site shortly before 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time. They described Grokipedia’s interface as minimalist — a dark background with a search bar and typography reminiscent of both Wikipedia and ChatGPT.
Information on the homepage indicates that Grokipedia is currently in version v0.1 and already contains 885,279 articles. For comparison, the English-language version of Wikipedia features over 7 million pages, highlighting that Grokipedia, while still in its early stage, is already a substantial repository of information.
Elon Musk also shared several posts on X comparing Grokipedia articles with those on Wikipedia. Users noted differences in the presentation of facts between the two platforms. Musk emphasized that Grokipedia aims for greater factual accuracy, stating: “Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. We will never be perfect, but we will strive for it.”
