The global IT sector is going through a period of turbulence. Since the beginning of 2024, technology companies around the world have laid off more than 130 thousand workers. The European market is no exception.
The beneficiary of the company “Neurolink” (brand Cosmobet) Mikhail Zborovsky stated this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
At the same time, working in conditions of constant crises has become a familiar environment for Ukrainian IT companies. Business in Ukraine is used to quickly adapting, promptly searching for new markets and rebuilding business models.
“The European IT sector operates in conditions of stability, where any deviation from the predicted scenario is perceived as a crisis. In Ukraine, a crisis is more of a standard condition, and companies have learned to react to changes quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy,” Zborovsky emphasized.
In addition, while strategic changes in the EU take a long time to agree on, in Ukraine a business can change its market, direction or even business model in a week. This also applies to technological innovations: for example, in gambling, European companies are just starting to test AI for marketing and UX, while Ukrainian ones have long been using it for player analytics, automatic recommendations and content personalization.
“In addition, we have a mentally different approach: “Flexibility, speed and readiness to experiment are what make the Ukrainian IT business more competitive even in unstable conditions,” he emphasizes.
Also, in his opinion, the Ukrainian IT sector is distinguished by its ability to quickly respond to challenges and change strategy in conditions of instability.
“If we talk about gambling, our biggest advantage is the speed of adaptation to new markets. European companies spend years understanding the regulatory nuances of a new country, and Ukrainian operators are already launching localized projects there, working with local partners and testing marketing hypotheses. Ukrainian business does not wait for circumstances to improve – it creates new opportunities itself. In the gambling industry, this is manifested through rapid global expansion, the introduction of innovative technologies and the constant search for new solutions,” Zborovsky is convinced.
At the same time, in his opinion, the main challenge for the IT industry today is uncertainty. A separate problem is the personnel market. This intensifies competition for talent, forcing Ukrainian companies to offer not only competitive salaries, but also flexible and adaptive working conditions, a strong corporate culture and opportunities for continuous development.
Another specific obstacle is added to the gambling industry – limited access to international financial instruments. Many payment systems treat Ukraine with caution, which complicates operational activities.
Let us recall that earlier in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Mikhail Zborovsky spoke about how changes in legislation affect the online gambling market, as well as about the trends and challenges facing the industry.
