Severna Park Independence Day Parade organizers have moved the community celebration to Saturday, July 11, 2026. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. until noon in Severna Park, Maryland, according to the Baltimore Chronicle via Facebook.
The parade was originally planned for July 4. Organizers postponed it because of anticipated excessive heat in Anne Arundel County. The decision allows participants, volunteers and spectators to attend under safer conditions.
New Severna Park parade date and time
The Severna Park Independence Day Parade will follow its usual two-hour schedule. Residents should update their plans and check official announcements before traveling.

A Severna Park tradition returns after postponement
Organizers described the parade as a local tradition spanning 50 years. They invited families to attend the rescheduled celebration despite the change.
Visitors preparing for the event should:
- bring drinking water;
- use sunscreen and light clothing;
- arrive before the 10:00 a.m. start;
- monitor weather and traffic updates;
- follow instructions from event staff.
The accompanying decorated bike contest is scheduled from 9:15 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Helmets are required for children who participate and later join the parade.
The rescheduled event keeps one of Severna Park’s longest-running Independence Day traditions on the local calendar. Further changes may be announced if weather conditions worsen.
