In the first quarter of 2024, 16,660 new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine, reports the Ukravtoprom association, Forbes reports. This is 49% higher than the same period last year.

The largest number of registrations were for Toyota passenger cars – 2643 cars, which is 52% more than in the first quarter of 2023.
Sales of the second most popular car brand, Renault, grew dynamically, 2,165 of which were added to the Ukrainian vehicle fleet – twice as many as in the past. New registrations of Audi cars increased 4.5 times from very low results in the past – from 94 to 421 units.
Geely cars received a second wind, sales of which increased from 37 last year to 165 units in the first quarter of 2024 years (4.5 times increase). Registrations of new BYDs have increased more than sevenfold.
The most stunning dynamics are for Zeekr electric cars: an increase in the number of registrations over the year by 40 times, from 3 to 121 units.
In contrast to 2023, sales of high-end brands are now declining: the number of new registrations of BMW decreased by 14%, Mercedes-Benz by 40%, Land Rover by 12%. Porsche (+3%) survived this decline, while sales of the Lexus brand increased by 26%.
The volume of new registrations of trucks and special vehicles increased by 28% to 2,864 units. Renault cars remain the leader here (932 units, an increase of 56%).
At the same time, registrations of new buses and minibuses decreased by 28%, to 305 units. Every third is Ataman, every fifth is Etalon.
