In Budapest, free travel for refugees from Ukraine has been extended until September 30, 2024. This was reported in the Budapest Transport Center.

At the same time, from April 1, the possibility of free travel for Ukrainian refugees will not apply to some commuter buses and the HÉV train within Budapest.
How to take advantage
In order to take advantage of free travel, you must present one of the Ukrainian documents that can be used to identify your person:
- passport; resident card; student ID of foreign students studying in Ukraine; any other document at the Ukrainian residence address for other foreign citizens.
With these documents you can travel for free on all transport in Budapest, except for: express 100E to the airport, funicular to Buda Castle, excursion flights and boats.
