This has worsened the air quality.
In the Kyiv region, the Obukhovsky and Boryspil peat are burning – fires of peat bogs, grass flooring and forest litter have been recorded. In this regard, the permissible concentration of chemical and biological substances in the region has been exceeded.
The radiation background in the region is within the normal range. Monitoring of the air quality continues, the Kyiv Regional Air Administration reported in Telegram.
“Smoke is also explained by seasonal temperature fluctuations. Warm air and humidity lead to fog and combustion products hardly dissipate,” the administration added.
Residents of the region were advised to limit their time outdoors, close windows in rooms and not ventilate, and drink plenty of water.
- Today, Kyiv topped the ranking of cities with the worst air quality in the world, and then dropped to second place. The concentration of harmful substances exceeded the limit by more than ten times.
